  • ChefMozFirst of all, no complaints about the food. The Palace Cafe is the sort of place you regularly see on the east coast, but not so much in the ol' Heartland, a cool dining room with funky lighting and art on the walls, and an emphasis on squeezing as many tables as possible as if they're paying NY rental values. That said, the atmosphere was very nice and urbane. We walk in the door, we have reservations, and both the bride and I get the immediate vibe that we're being checked out by the host. I'm sorry, this is Tulsa, not midtown Manhattan. If someone comes in and plans to pay the $100+ tab most diners will spend here, you do NOT get to check us out. You greet us as the honored guests we are and make us feel welcome. Eventually, and I do mean eventually, we are seated. The service was relaxed? No, unhurried? No, leisurely. VERY leisurely. In our server's defense, they were hosting a huge party in the upstairs room, so some slack should be cut. Also kudos to her for volunteering to remove a bum wine she recommended, from our bill. A classy and unexpected move.Again, nothing but raves from us about the food. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared. I had never had bentos before, basically a bite sized appetizer, and I am sold. Much better size-wise and appetite-wise than a full appetizer. We had a mushroom and orange glazed shrimp morsel, and a potsticker. Both delicious. For our entrees, we had the scallops and the tenderloin. Both entrees were excellently prepared and presented. The scallop's sauce enhanced and didn't overpower their delicate flavor. The tenderloin was wonderful and scultural with a seared potato slice underneath the meat, carmelized onions on top, and an otherworldly mushroom chutney to the side. Yum. Dessert was exquisite as well. A mocha concoction, and a heavenly chocolate mousse with raspberry drips and a banana slice with a crunchy sugar glaze on one side.Overall, cooking worthy of midtown Manhattan, just lose the NY attitude and I'll love ya like mama's chicken and dumplings.

  • Nick T.We have always liked the food here and had friendly service. But are last trip has made us doubt we will ever go back. I needed seating for 4 and a baby and they said we should leave and go else ware
