• We really liked the dinner at Vic's. Very nice place, excellent service for an early Friday night, and very tasty food. I would go back again. I forgot the name, so I found it here and thought it so good that I needed to correct the above reviews. In our view, Vic's is an A restaurant.

• My wife took me to Vic Stewart's when she got her bonus. We really wanted to celebrate. She loves prime rib. I had fish. What a disapointment! The prime rib was mediocre, at best. The tuna was slighly better. The service was fair. The place must be living on its reputation. There are many better places to eat in Walnut Creek.

• Horrible. From the moment we walked in until the moment we were told, "we couldn't stay any longer". How does a medium rare steak end up cold? Warm maybe, but the bleak potato that sat next to it was also cold...I sat while my husband ate his meal. Finally I grabbed a busboy that hunted down my waitress who then begrudgingly warmed my food. My husband and I had a glass of Chardonnay and a bottle of Cab (so overpriced that they should be ashamed). My husband gets annoyed when I complain so I didn't. We paid our bill and went to the bar for our after dinner drink (knew at this point it would be faster). Long story short- I mentioned to the hostess that our meal was bad, she mentioned it to the manager and he gave us a $75 gift receipt, which was very nice. $75 of overpriced badly cooked food is worth about...what?? I was about to forgive and forget, and then my husband opened his big mouth and had the nerve to ask the bartender if they decanted "by the glass" wine as they do "by the bottle" wine. At this point the manager came up and told us that "we" had too much to drink and we had to leave. Ok. I told him that I had only two glasses of wine over the course of the meal and that my husband wasn't driving. The manager still thought I had too much too drink and that we should leave. I can tell you this...we work hard. My husband is an SF Fire Fighter and I am in the Tech field. We eat out when we want, but with three kids choose carefully (my husband is a great cook). My husband is working on New Years Day so this was our "big night out.” I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in Vics. I can't believe that we are the first to experience this. I won't even use the $75.
