  • ChefMozI thought I would try this place after seeing long lines there on the weekends. What a mistake! I don't get it. The prices are high for this type place, but I would not mind it if it was backed up by good food. It is not. Tried the Kobe Beef burger, I sent it back after the first bite (first time I ever had to do that) it obviously had been kept around too long. I switched to something safe, pancakes, they were good, but still on the expensive side.My companion had a Reuben which she said was ok, but on the bland side.Oh yeah, I also second the comment about the owner, Wow! What a miserable person.

  • ChefMozWell, sort of. I've never had better french fries, and it is the only place I know of where you can get an "Apple curry Turkey Burger" - and it is outstanding. The grilled turkey Reuben, and the Monte Cristo are outstanding, but those french fries are incredible. If you don't want fries, you cannot go wrong with the spinach. It's actually always a hard decision if I want the fries, or the spinach as a side. The Kobe Beef Burger isn't really worth it, because the regular burger is just as good, I think. Don't bother with the tofu veggie stir fry - pretty tasteless. Finish off with the Boston Cream Pie. It is the best I've ever had. Yes, the ambiance is pretty cool. I've never heard a bad tune being played there, the wait staff is always very nice, and I've never witnessed the owner yelling at anyone, but the seats are wobbly. The food more than makes up for the wobbly seats, though. Prices are very reasonable, too. Great first date place because there is so much variety on the menu.

  • ChefMozI’m slowly becoming a regular at this beautiful old-school diner. Excellent selection of food - surprisingly eclectic and yet also has a selection that sticks to its more traditional diner roots. Amazingly friendly service – don’t be fooled by many of their SuicideGirls looks and tattoos – they are sweet like candy. Big gripe: Booths – seats and backs are often loose and dangerous-feeling to sit in, yet only minimal maintenance would cure that. Wobbling around during meals is no fun. Bigger Gripe: the music is hit-or-miss. 80's and modern alternative fits the place well, while Spanish yodeling and pseudo-classical does not. Best to let the younger-generation help maintain the tunes. Biggest Gripe: owner seems oblivious to the fact that when he yells at his wait-staff and chefs, or bosses them around in a gruff manner, people are watching in disbelief, quite regularly. Terrible people skills, that man. He doesn’t even like to help seat incoming customers if he can help it.Overall – visit for the great eats, the dessert treats (all homemade and incredible), the 80's beats, and not the wobbly seats.

  • ChefMozFor those who grew up in NJ or NY, with all-night diners, we never knew how much we missed them until we moved to Massachusetts. The food wasn't great, but we went for the atmosphere and pancakes at 2 AM. A high school friend brought me to Deluxe for breakfast and I am sold - great food, fast service, and more upscale than the diners back home but still for a good price. If they were open all night I would never have to go back to NJ at all.

  • Cedar O.They make their own corned beef hash and it's to die for. Not little cubes from a can but melt in your mouth tender beef, fantastic with eggs and toast.
