I was a first time patron Friday this past week and I will probably never eat at the Stockyard again. First, my waitress got my drink order wrong(I ordered 1/2 pint of Guiness, she delivered 1 full pint), and when I informed her it was incorrect she told me, `drink half of it.` In a huff she removed th edrink, neglecting to take another order. result: pre-meal drink ruined. She returned 10 minutes later to take our meal order and asks in a very hostile tone, `now tell me where you can get a 1/2 pint of beer?` Bear in mind it is Guiness, not beer, and where I can get one is irrelevent to the situation. She got my drink order wrong and now is giving me a hard time about it. So we place our orders and my second drink order, merlot, arrives with the salad, not immediatly after I order it.Later, much later, around 40 minutes after our salads were eaten, a man not our waitress arrived with the food. The result?...I didn't make another drink order, my merlot having been injested 20 minutes earlier. For dessert, more excitement. I order 1 Baked Alaska for the three of us dining(we wanted to share), and she arrives with plates topped with spoons for my colleagues, and for me a spoon set down in front of me on the table, not on a plate or napkin, just there on the table. I was seething at this point. My colleagues requested I let the slights and bad service pass until I could speak to a manager the following business week. I intend on doing just that tomorrow. The food was not bad, but at $20 dollars an entree I was disgusted with the service. Pass.

The Stockyard should not consider themselves a steak place because they cannot cook a steak the way you order it. I cannot understand why it is always crouded because I have never gone there without at least one person in the group getting a bad meal. I usually get dragged there when I'm with a group from work. The last time I went one of the people I was with ordered a steak medium. It came out raw in the middle. He sent it back and it came out well done. My potato was cold and the chowder was warm at best. The service is lousy too. The seafood is usually good but they are supposed to be known for steak. I would not reccommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to eat a good steak.

Quality steak and beef that beats Hill Top and the more expensive Steak places in downtown Boston. Have returned to this place over the years and very little has changed. Service is friendly and very helpful. Food is consistently very good.

The white Pizza is amazing. The thin version of the crust is nice and crispy.

We spent Valentines night out here 2004. The prices were at least doubled for the night (they were well above the price range listed in this site), although I heard it was exceptional, so was excited to try it out - how wrong I was. Starters was a choice of a plate of lettuce or a bowl of cream soup - litte effort. For main course, the steak was pretty lean, but the pork chop was full of grissle. I spent most of my time chewing. Vegetables included 2 small chunks of potatoe and less than a spoonful of vegetables. The service was fantastic, but when you are paying $150 for a meal out, you expect quality meat, and effort. I came away not feeling very well, and disapointed with the experience. As it was to be a romantic night, I decided not to complain, but now regret this, so thought that this would be a good way to voice it.
