The food was good but it definitely does not worth the insulation that you have to go through if you refused to let the owner rip you off! They will charge you for things that you did not order and if you refused to pay for these extras, you will be called things like `cheap,` `your business does not worth it,` `not a decent customer,` etc. Not just that, but she said she would call the authorities if I refused to pay what *she* wants to charge me! I insisted on her to call them because I'm not paying for more than what I ordered!! Obviously, she was just trying to play games because when she realized that *I* want the authorities to come she forgot about it and tried some other games. Apparently a `worthy` business for them is the one that they can charge the customers whatever *they* like and not what *the customer* has ordered or agreed to order!!! It was the most humiliating experience I have ever had!!! If you care about honesty save yourself the insulation and humiliation and NEVER go there!!! PS. My business which the owner thought `does not worth it,` was a dinner for 41 people which cost over $1800!

I haved dined at Lo Conte's twice in the past year, and both times the staff was extremely rude. After our most recent visit, our waiter followed my 72-year-old mother out onto Salem Street to confront her and complain about his tip. She was taken aback and had no idea what to say to this angry man. I was appalled and will never eat there again.

I hadn't been to this restuarant since it opened when I lived in Boston ('73-'79)! Nice to see its still around and under the care of German Aquilar, one of the best restauranteurs in town. Enjoyed it!Peter Bixby, Paris, France

Wife an I in town from Houston where we have great restaurants. We thought Casa Blanca was excellent. Nice wine list; great food with clever spice selections. The roast pork was marvelous. We started with the `warm olives.` Service was pleasant and attentive without obsequiousness. Five stars on the entrees and four for the desserts!

Got the clambake on New Years Day in Braintree. The chowder was just ok, the lobster and clams were so overdone they were like rubber. The baked potato tasted like dirt. The third of an ear of corn that came with it was like rubber. I will never recommend Legal and will never dine there again.

The food was good, but we suffered terrible service. The waitress had a `teen-age childish attitude`, as if she canít wait to go home. She was very rough, throwing plates and cutleries everywhere. She brought check before asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. She threw the check in the end, and chocolate candies dropped on to the floor. Outrageous service charge was added to the check, and when we questioned about it, she said `It's only a suggested charge we put on for the party of 5 or more`... hello? we were a party of 3... We are the kind of people who don't mind spending money if it's the money well spent. After our complaints, we saw the waitress deliberately sniggering and chitchatting with the fellow wait staff to make us feel bad. But the nightmare didn't end here. The next day, I called the restaurant to complain about the service. I spoke to the manager. He never said `Sorry` til the end. As a manger, the first thing he should say is `Iím sorry you suffered terrible service`, but instead, the first thing he said was `You guys were there until 9:30pm, when you were supposed to have left at 9pm`... for the record, no one told us about the time limit. If we had known, of course we would have left at 9pm. Anyway, that doesn't justify bad service, does it? He said he would talk to the waitress, but what I wanted was the apology for ruining the important night. Instead, he treated me as another angry customer, which case can be dropped and be forgotten. What really got me was, when my friend reviewed the restaurant a year ago for the local magazine, the service was excellent. Last night, we went as ourselves... and that's what we got. I really hope the owner would read this review (skip manager!), although I am sure they would think of every excuse to prove that I'm the one who is insane!! I am Never Never going back! And would seize any opportunity to tell the public what I experienced.

Top of The Hub's menu reads like a practice in snobbery. The wait staff seem to take lessons in snobbery. The restaurant has great views and is very nicely laid out, but the atmosphere is an uncomfortable one. The portions are very small, and they sell chicken at Filet Mignon prices. For a nice romantic dinner I prefer Maison Robert (during the summer for outdoor dining), or Stephanie's on Newbury during winter.
